An important part of our national
heritage is being lost because historically significant gravestones and
monuments are neglected and uncared for. Many of these artifacts date from the
time of the first settlements by Europeans and from colonial times. We have
established Graven Images as a website devoted to the documentation and
preservation of these artifacts. Initially, we intend to concentrate our
activities in southern Fairfield County, Connecticut, extending this area as
interest grows.
These are national treasures which must be preserved for the sake of our ancestors and for posterity.
